Coastal Watch is a market leader in the provision of surf and swell forecasting in Australia as well as being a premier web-based coastal viewing site, was confirmed as Australia's No.1 Sport - Water Sport website and No.1 Web Camera site at the recent Hitwise national Awards.

In 2005, Coastal Watch approached Alpha Salmon to redevelop its website to meet the demands of their customers. The aim was to provide the best surf and swell forecasting information in Australia. With over 130,000 members and over 60 cameras at all the major beaches in Australia today, Alpha Salmon has assisted Coastal Watch to achieve its objectives.

Solution: Continuity to better

Since its involvement in 2005, Alpha Salmon continues to support for Coastal Watch to deliver additional services to their loyal subscribers and members such as automated coastal monitoring and observation system and SMS Surf.

Alpha Salmon continues to develop and assists the Coastal Watch business to bring many of their acquired services online. These include provision of detailed weather forecast information from Bureau of Meteorology, media delivery for up to 200 live cameras, support for the Surf Life Saving Australia as a tool to monitor and minimise water sports accidents at Australian beaches.

Result: Bringing more content to members

Coastalwatch.com is now delivering more up to date content to members and the public at large. Coastal Watch can be viewed on Channel 33 (Digital) in NSW, mobile surf forecasts on Telstra NextG and online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The traffic to date is astounding with over hundreds of thousands of unique visitors per week with the prospect of increase by many folds.
