AMD

Background: AMD processors used in DreamWorks' Madagascar animated film.

AMD aimed to showcase the power of the new AMD Athlon processors used to produce the CGI found in DreamWorks' Madagascar animated movie. The simultaneous Madagascar DVD launch event was promoted in London, Shanghai and New York.

The aim was to develop an application that not only showcase the AMD processors but also to create a buzz among the attendees at the events. As the theme of the events was 'collaboration', Jack Morton Sydney in association with Alpha Salmon as their technical development partner, was appointed to manage the production of a ground breaking interactive application that makes clever use of AMD processors.

Solution: Art expression in real time in three cities

Alpha Salmon developed an online digital canvas application integrating with a drawing tool that links the art created by the event attendees at each of the cities in real time.

The aim is to allow event attendees the ability to draw and link the artwork created in Shanghai, London and New York and join collaboratively as a single masterpiece mural that will be later produced in printed format.

The digital canvas allows event attendees to use a graphic tablet and light pen to collaborate the art between three cities in real time.

The project consists of connecting AMD based kiosks at the events that each has a live link to the kiosks located in the other cities. The event attendees were able to view other drawings made in real time in the other cities on a projected screen whilst using the drawing tablet to add their own artistic inspirations to the final product.

Result: Exclusive reviews on Dragon TV

The show was a major success with industry journalists and attendees raving about the ease-of-use and commended Alpha Salmon on the unique use of AMD processors that powered the mural collaboration tool and exemplifies the theme of a truly global event. The product was aired and featured on Dragon TV in Shanghai, China.
